David Reidmiller was appointed Acting Federal Director of the Northeast CASC in October 2019. Prior to this appointment, Reidmiller was detailed to the U.S. Global Change Research Program at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he served as Director of the Fourth National Climate Assessment. Earlier in his career, he spent five years as the Chief Climate Scientist and Lead Climate Technology Negotiator at the U.S. Department of State. His responsibilities in this position included coordinating U.S. engagement in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and leading governmental negotiations related to science and technology in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Reidmiller has also been an American Meteorological Society Congressional Science & Technology Policy Fellow as well a Mizrayan Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. He completed his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington in 2010.
