The PIs of the NE CSC funded project A Decisions Support Mapper for Conserving Stream Fish Habitats of the NE CSC Region, will be holding a Stakeholder’s webinar: "NE CSC Fish Habitat Data Viewer Planning", on Wednesday May 7, 2014.

This workshop is being organized to demonstrate methods to: 1) characterize the current condition of stream fish habitats throughout the NE CSC region based on responses of target fish species to a diverse set of landscape-scale disturbances; 2) identify stream reaches predicted to change with climate and likely to change distributions of target fish species throughout the region; and 3) develop a spatially-explicit web-based decision support viewer showing measures of current landscape condition along with estimates of changes in habitat that may occur with changes in climate.  This web viewer will be developed in companion with an existing fish vulnerability mapper funded by the UMGL LCC and integrated as a separate theme into a proposed Climate Change Visualization and Integration of Ecological and Watershed Resources (CCVIEWeR).

Natural resource professionals from the NE CSC region with an interest and/or knowledge in fish habitat vulnerability to climate change are invited.  The workshop goals are to get feedback from personnel that will utilize the mapper for management, prioritization, and conservation purposes.  Feedback will be critical towards identifying species of interest, resource managers’ needs, potential management actions, and adaptation strategies towards addressing potential climate change effects on stream habitat.  In addition, the organizers will use this opportunity to determine the best way to integrate information into the decision support mapper.

If you are interested in attending the webinar please contact Damon Krueger (810-875-0001, @email) or  Dana Infante (@email) with questions and/or RSVP by Friday April 30th, 2014.
