Description: Since 2012, we've been shocked to see cyanobacterial blooms appear on one stretch of the Lake Superior shoreline.  With these events, now all five Laurentian Great Lakes are subject to algal blooms that affect the services we obtain from these magnificent bodies of freshwater.  In my talk I'll go over what we know about drivers of blooms, including how climate may be behind their appearance.
