Research Interests:

My main interest is the quantification of the effects of climate change in water resources; in particular I am interested in the response of the land, water and plants on a local and regional scale. In the past my research was focused on local events such as glacier lakes outburst floods from the point of view of the evolution of hazards for local communities in the Himalayas and Andes of Peru. Currently I am interested in regional land surface modeling to predict changes in different components of the water cycle such us runoff, evapotranspiration and soil moisture as responses to weather and climate changes. Additionally I have worked with governmental institutions (i.e. NWS, Chilean and Peruvian government) and international organizations (i.e. USAID, UNDP, TMI). I am also interested in the application of my results in vulnerability, risk analysis and adaptation analysis while working with decision makers.
