Wednesday, September 12, 2018 | 8:00 am
Room 134, Morrill Science Center II, or to join remotely, see Webinar Information, above.

This semester we will be presenting “brown-bag talks” that will provide brief updates of our activities and provide opportunities for attendees to engage in discussion and ask questions.  The talks are 30 minutes starting at 12pm eastern followed by discussions.  The NE CASC University Director, Richard Palmer from UMass Amherst, will start us off by updating us on NE CASC activities and the state of the science for climate adaptation from our center.

Dr. Richard Palmer is a professor and department head of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  He is currently the university director of the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center, one of eight national centers funded by the USGS/Department of Interior.  His research focuses on the fields of climate impacts on water resources and urban infrastructure and in the application of structured planning approaches to water and natural resource management.  These interests include the impacts of climate change, drought planning, real-time water resource management, and the application of decision support to civil engineering management problems.
